Welcome Back

I hope that you have enjoyed your time away from school over the Spring Break.  As Middle School students it is my hope that you have also reflected on your year so far.  As Term 3 begins I would encourage you to look beyond yourself and consider the impact you have within the school.  Look for ways to be one who encourages, who helps, and who builds up.  Jesus has indeed begun a good work in each one of you and I pray that as the year finishes that you would allow yourself to be obedient and available to Him as he directs and leads your paths.  Work to your full potential  and finish well for His Glory.  Welcome Back!

Spring Break! and then ten more weeks....

I don't know if you have noticed or not but you have gotten older, gotten taller, and even matured to some degree this year.  I also don't know if you have noticed but God has been at work in you and through you.  While all of you do occasionally have tough days, you have all played positive significant roles in our class this year.  As you see your report card tomorrow and reflect on your progress so far, I would like to challenge you to finish the year well.  Take a deep breath over Spring Break and choose a few areas of your school life that you would like to focus on and come back ready to persevere and work hard at those areas.  If you would like some help, whether it is staying focused, working neatly, completing work, or challenging yourself to work to an even higher level than you have already achieved, I would like to help you.

You are all great people and it continues to be my privilege to work with you! May God bless you richly while you enjoy two weeks away from the classroom.

Oh January

There are certainly moments when all seems right in the world.  As we have had the chance to enjoy the beautiful weather over the past few weeks, I think you would agree.  I know that standing at the top of the ski hill on a beautiful blue sky day, hanging out with your friends and taking in the beauty of God's creation certainly brings about a feeling of tranquility.
There are other days though. Some days are cloudy and wet and seem to drag on forever.  There always seems to be more homework on those days.  They are the days when the expectation of others seem a little heavier.
January can be a long month and the Middle School years are tricky enough without long months. You  are facing this battle between wanting the leisure of a child and the privilege of an adult at the same time;  of trying to understand your relationship with Christ as your own, and in trying out the yoke of responsibility.  

I would just like to encourage you to continue to step forward.  Continue the counter-intuitive process of submitting yourself before God, of respecting your parents and serving your family. Continue to work on building good friendships and on finishing your homework (every time ) :-)   All of this produces character and is a worth while investment that will pay good returns.

I think you are a great group of people and it is my privilege to work with you each day. I am praying for you and I am excited to see Jesus at work in your lives.

Happy New Year

Welcome back to school!  I know that starting the new year is a good chance to think about how we have been doing things and how we can do things better.  I would like to encourage you to get off to a good start as you begin 2014.  Find out what you value and what your priorities are and then work to make sure that you are using your time and effort to properly support what you value.  Honor God, your family, teachers and friends and do your best.  I will be praying for you.
